Backflow Prevention Device Rules
Backflow Testing Fee is $70.00 annually beginning 1/1/2025.
If you are not using our contractor for testing, SAWS has a Backflow prevention page to reference for more information https://www.saws.org/backflow-prevention/frequently-asked-questions/ .
Backflow Prevention Assembly (BPA) Replacement – When there is a BPA test failure and it cannot be repaired in place it must be replaced with a reduced pressure style unit. This unit is a permanent part of the owner’s property and is the responsibility of the property owner. The property owner must contract with a licensed contractor for replacement. The property owner will have 10 days from the date of test failure or until the end of the month in which failure occurs, whichever is longer, to complete this action. Failure to complete replacement within this period will result in service disconnection and the resulting disconnect fee. If the property owner believes that there are extenuating circumstances that justify extension of this deadline an extension MAY be granted if applied for before the deadline.
